Milonga Cannabis Tea Pulled From Shelves – Bureau Orders Urgent National Recall

Well, well — looks like one tea bag cause big trouble this week. The Bureau of Standards just issue a mandatory national recall for a product called Milonga – Cannabis Infused Tea: Yerba Mate (and yes, that’s all flavours).

Turns out the tea label boldly say it contain 10mg of THC, which is the main psychoactive chemical in cannabis — and in St Kitts and Nevis, that’s a big no-no. THC still classified as a Class A controlled drug under local law, meaning you can’t sell, trade or distribute it in any form.

Officials say the product was found sitting right there in some local retail stores, including supermarkets and bars, without any trade approval. The recall is being enforced under the Bureau of Standards Regulations, the Drugs Act, and the Customs and Excise Act — so this one serious.

Authorities also warn that the product poses a public health and safety risk, especially to children, since it could easily be mistaken for a regular herbal drink.

Every shop and distributor across the Federation now have 48 hours to pull it off the shelves and stop all sales, or face enforcement action. Consumers are being told straight — do not drink it, throw it out immediately.

Run Di Chat say it plain: this ain’t the kind of “tea” you sip before bed.
