Nevis Youth Ready to Shine at CTO Youth Congress 2025
Nevis putting the region on notice once again. Two bright young minds from the rock, Khayla Claxton and Keyana Warner, packing their bags and heading to Barbados to take centre stage at the Caribbean Tourism Organisation’s (CTO) Youth Congress 2025.
Claxton, a Gingerland Secondary School student and Nevis’ Junior Minister of Tourism, will go head-to-head with delegates from 14 other territories, bringing her own fresh ideas on the future of Caribbean tourism. Backing her all the way are her teacher chaperone Tamara Morton, the Ministry of Tourism team, and none other than reigning champion herself, Keyana Warner.
Warner isn’t just tagging along either. She’s about to make history as the first Junior Minister of Tourism ever invited to speak at the opening ceremony of a major CTO conference. From little Nevis to a regional stage, Warner will deliver remarks alongside Secretary-General Dona Regis-Prosper before moderating the Youth Congress itself. Big, big moment.
Premier Mark Brantley had nothing but pride in his voice, praising both delegates for their preparation and promise. He recalled that Warner’s win last year continued a winning streak set by other Nevisians Rol-J Williams and Neila Jones. He also revealed that Claxton already impressed Cabinet with a preview of her presentation. “Nevis is in excellent hands with the calibre of youth that we have,” Brantley said.
Claxton has already been sharpening her skills through interactive workshops, learning leadership, workplace readiness, and even exploring how cutting-edge tech like AI and VR could transform Caribbean tourism. Warner meanwhile is making history and setting the tone for what Nevisian youth leadership looks like.
From Gingerland to global conversations, from Charlestown to Barbados, Nevis’ youth are proving again that talent here punches way above its weight. The CTO Youth Congress 2025 won’t just be another regional event — it will be a showcase of Nevisian excellence.
Run Di Chat take: When Nevis youths step up, they don’t just take part — they take over. Claxton and Warner are flying the flag high, and come October 2, all eyes on Barbados to see Nevis shine.
