Patriots Edge Past Warriors in Nail-Biter to Stay Alive in CPL 2025

The St Kitts & Nevis Patriots breathed life back into their campaign with a tense five-run victory over the Guyana Amazon Warriors, keeping their hopes alive in the Caribbean Premier League 2025. Chasing 149, the Warriors were in the hunt but could not break through the Patriots’ collective defence. Mohammad Rizwan laid the foundation with a fluent 85 off 62, while Naseem Shah held his nerve in the final over, defending 11 to seal the win.

Rizwan’s knock rescued the Patriots from a shaky start—26/3 at one stage—and his steady partnership with Navian Bidaisee (22 not out) set a defendable total of 149/6. Then the bowlers stepped up: every one of the six who bowled picked up a wicket, and the spin duo of Waqar Salamkheil and Naseem bundled the Warriors into trouble at crucial stages. Although the Warriors battled back—Quentin Sampson’s late surge narrowed the gap—the Patriots held firm, making the five-run triumph a collective effort of grit and discipline.

With this win the Patriots now sit on six points from nine games, making their remaining fixture a must-win. For Guyana the defeat leaves open questions about momentum heading into the closing stages. It was more than a victory—it was a signal that the Patriots still have fight left in them.
