Nevis Shows Its Heart — Good Samaritan Steps Up After Homeless Man Found at Taxi Stand
Nevis proving again that kindness still lives here. What started as a sad sight at the Nevis Taxi Stand turned into a story of compassion and community action after a local commentator shared images of a man reportedly living there.
According to the commentator, the man — believed to be a Jamaican national — had fallen on hard times and was using the stand as shelter. The commentator’s post quickly caught the attention of residents, calling on Government Services, Red Cross, and local churches to step in and assist.
But Nevis didn’t just talk — it acted. Within a day, the commentator shared an update that an anonymous good Samaritan had reached out, offering both a $1,000 EC donation and a job to help the man get back on his feet.
In a message shared by the commentator, the donor wrote:
“Don’t mention me. I think 1000 EC should be able to set up temporary, and then if he wants work seriously I got work for delivery and my warehouse also… We can’t let anyone of any race or country be homeless in St. Kitts.”
The commentator confirmed that the man has since been removed from the location by police and government services, with arrangements being made to connect him with the donor’s assistance.
The story has since spread across the island, praised as proof that even in tough times, Nevis and St. Kitts still filled with people who care.
