Police appeal for help to identify elderly man found on Nevis

A somber scene unfolded in Nevis last week, as police confirmed the discovery of an elderly man’s body in a storm drain near the beach at New Castle. The call came in around 7:30 a.m. on 14 August, and officers from the Royal St Christopher and Nevis Police Force quickly secured the area.

In their statement, authorities noted that the man had no known address. While foul play is not suspected at this time, investigators have opened an inquiry to establish who he was and how he came to be in that location.

The Force is now turning to the public for help. Anyone who might recognise the description or have information that could assist in identifying him is urged to contact the nearest police station.

The discovery is a reminder of the value of community in moments of loss. The man’s identity and story matter, and police are appealing to citizens to come forward so he can be properly acknowledged and laid to rest with dignity.
