Brantley makes moves in Martha’s Vineyard

Premier Mark Brantley made his first official visit to Martha’s Vineyard on August 13, stepping into Oak Bluffs for an exclusive, invite-only event.

The guest list had serious star power: The View co-host Sunny Hostin, Emmy-winning actress Lynn Whitfield, and community leaders from across the Vineyard. The evening was led by Emmy-winning producer and Nevis Diversity Ambassador Candi Carter, alongside Oak Bluffs residents Bill and Terri Borden.

Oak Bluffs is legendary for its history as a haven for Black travellers. Brantley used the platform to build that bridge between the Vineyard and Nevis—highlighting Nevis’ heritage, its booming property market, and bold plans for renewable energy. He also reminded guests that Nevis has long been the “birthplace of Caribbean hospitality.”

The night closed with a luxury touch: two trips to the Four Seasons Resort Nevis raffled off, giving the Vineyard crowd a taste of what the island offers.
