Taiwan Boosts SKN’s COP30 Mission
Saint Kitts and Nevis is gearing up for the big stage at COP30 in Belém, Brazil, and the island just secured a major show of support from one of its most loyal partners — the Republic of China (Taiwan).
Joyelle Clarke, Minister of Sustainable Development, made the announcement as part of SKN’s wider push to strengthen the Sustainable Island State Agenda (SISA) and bring the Federation’s voice to global climate talks.
The contribution from Taiwan isn’t just dollars and cents — it’s backing that helps ensure SKN’s delegation is diverse, inclusive and truly reflective of the people and priorities driving the country’s sustainability efforts.
Clarke said the partnership underlines the deep relationship between SKN and Taiwan, and helps position the Federation as a serious champion for Small Island Developing States (SIDS) in climate negotiations.
As the countdown to COP30 begins, SKN’s message is clear: we small, but we strong — and we’re stepping into Brazil ready to fight for island futures.
